I know why. To all those out there with opinions on range, cost, environmental impact etc, here's the solution.
Just drive one. We have all seen powerful cars pull away with great acceleration and noise.
Simply put, a Tesla will blow even the hardest core "gear head" away, silently.
Fast does not really describe it.
Lag - there is NO lag. Put your foot down and this thing takes off. At 60, put your foot down again and the acceleration is JUST THE SAME as 0-60! Ever been one of those Maglev rollercoasters? (Rockin Rollercoaster - Universal Studios. Mr Freeze - 6 Flags)
The internal combustion engine is just about done folks - soon to be relegated to the infrequent cross country trips we make a couple of times a year - and rented at best.
Instead of your ears hurting when you finally do emerge from a Tesla - You face hurts from all the smiling.
The range? 234 Miles on ONE CHARGE. That is not a problem for most folks who go to work less than an hour away. And that one charge costs a fraction of the gas.....
